Restylane and Radiesse

Wrinkles, scars, areas of fat loss and other skin defects not treatable with Botox can be filled with other substances injected under the skin. Surface offers two safe and effective choices.

Restylane is the most common dermal filler and often is used to treat deep facial wrinkles and restore fullness to the skin. It is a highly refined form of a substance found in human skin and is remarkably safe and complication-free.

Radiesse is a new dermal filler to enhance the fullness of the lips and to fill in smaller wrinkles such as those that form around the mouth. Radiesse is made of a material used for decades in dental and facial implants and is considered safe and complication-free.

Effects of a filler injection can be noticed immediately. Restylane should be repeated every six months while the effects of Radiesse may last a year or longer. No recovery time is needed after a treatment. Slight swelling at the injection site should subside within 12 to 24 hours.
